The Casinos Edge in the Rules of Blackjack

The Casinos Edge in the Rules of Blackjack
In my many years as a professional gambler I have met with many people who think of themselves as gamblers, but unfortunately the reality is otherwise. One of the most talked about subjects is how to get a winning edge in Blackjack.
I reckon that over 90% of all Blackjack players don't know exactly where the casino has the edge in this wonderful game. The fact is that this also goes for the Blackjack dealers! Try to ask your Blackjack dealer what and where the house edge is in the game and the majority of them will not know the answer.
I have seen many "Strategies" from players in their quest for getting the edge because they figure that they have all the advantages. After all the player can choose what to do, the dealer can't. The player can double down, insure, surrender, split and on top of all this the player gets 3 to 2 if he gets a Blackjack.
All of the options above can of course be to the players advantage and this article relates to the house edge and not player strategies, but let me just give you a quick tip:
The absolute worst strategy you can choose is to mimic the dealer, which will say always hit on 16 and below and stand on 17 and above!
So where exactly are the rules of Blackjack making the Casino their money?
The reason I went through all this before telling you the answer is because you should do the same bit of teasing on others, if you want to have a bit of fun. Keep them guessing a bit before you tell them the answer.
The solution to the problem can be found through 2 questions:
What happens if you have 18 and the dealer has 18? Easy - it's a stand-off and you keep your wager.
And now for the magic question:
What happens if you and the dealer ties on 22, 23, 24, 25 or 26?
The answer to the above question is also the solution to the problem about the Casinos edge in Blackjack. Since the rules of Blackjack states that the players hand is dealt with first, the Casino wins if you tie on bust hands.
